Business consulting that replaces guesswork with a plan you can actually follow

Most owners know something needs to change. They just can't see what, because they're too close to it. We sit beside you, look at the numbers, the people, the processes, and build a route forward that fits your business, not a textbook.

What we actually do

Four areas where we spend most of our time with clients. Each engagement is scoped to your situation; we don't sell a fixed programme.

Growth strategy

We analyse your revenue streams, pricing structure and market position. Then we map out which opportunities are worth pursuing and which are draining resources. You get a 12-month plan with quarterly milestones, not a 60-page report that gathers dust.

Financial clarity

Cash-flow forecasting, margin analysis, cost reduction. We work with your accountant or bookkeeper to translate the numbers into decisions. If you've ever stared at a P&L and felt none the wiser, this is the service for you.

Operations and people

Hiring the wrong person costs roughly £12,000 by the time you recruit again. We help you define roles clearly, build simple performance frameworks and remove bottlenecks in day-to-day workflows so your team stops firefighting.

Change management

Mergers, leadership transitions, new systems. Change fails when people aren't brought along. We design communication plans, run workshops and stay involved until the new way of working sticks. Typical engagement: 8 to 14 weeks.

Where this has worked

Edinburgh food distributor

The owner was turning over £1.8m but barely breaking even. We found two product lines that consumed 40% of warehouse labour yet contributed under 9% of gross profit. After discontinuing one and repricing the other, the business posted its first six-figure profit in three years.

+£134k net profit

Glasgow SaaS start-up

A five-person tech company needed to hire its first sales team but had no process, no CRM and no idea what "good" looked like. We built a sales playbook, chose and configured a CRM in under two weeks, and coached the founder through the first three hires.

Pipeline from £0 to £420k in 5 months

Family-run construction firm

The founder wanted to step back but hadn't documented anything. Knowledge lived in his head. Over 12 weeks we created an operations manual, trained his site managers and handed over financial oversight to his daughter, who now runs the day-to-day.

Successful succession in 90 days

Rural tourism operator

Seasonal cash-flow swings were making it impossible to keep staff year-round. We restructured pricing to encourage off-peak bookings and negotiated a revolving credit facility with the bank. Staff turnover dropped from 60% to 15% within a year.

How an engagement works

1

Clarity call

A free 30-minute video call. You tell us what's going on; we tell you honestly whether we can help.

2

Discovery week

We review your financials, interview key people and observe operations. This usually takes five working days.

3

Action plan

A focused document: what to fix, in what order, with expected costs and returns. No filler, no jargon.

4

Implementation

We work alongside your team to execute. Fortnightly check-ins keep things on track without adding meetings for the sake of it.

Questions we hear often

Most projects fall between £4,000 and £18,000 depending on scope and duration. The initial clarity call is free, and we provide a fixed quote before any work begins. We don't bill by the hour, so there are no surprises.

Yes. About a third of our clients are elsewhere in the UK. Discovery can be done remotely for most service businesses; for manufacturing or logistics we prefer at least one on-site visit.

We've worked across food and drink, professional services, construction, tourism, technology and retail. The common thread is owner-managed businesses with 5 to 120 employees. If your sector is new to us, we'll say so upfront.

No. We complement existing advisors. Your accountant handles compliance and tax; we focus on commercial decisions, operational improvements and strategic direction. We're happy to sit in on meetings with your other advisors if that helps.

You keep everything: documents, frameworks, templates. Many clients move to a light-touch retainer, typically one half-day per month, for ongoing accountability. Others check in quarterly. There's no lock-in contract.
